Know the Signs. Act Fast. Save Everything.

The week before my senior year, I woke up in the worst pain of my life. I got lucky — my parents got me to the ER in time. Not everyone does. This site exists so you know what I know.

4–6 Hours.

That's your window to save the testicle.

After that, the testicle may not be saveable. This is a medical emergency.

What Is Testicular Torsion?

Testicular torsion happens when the spermatic cord — the cord that supplies blood to the testicle — twists. When it twists, blood flow is cut off.

It can happen to any male, at any age, completely out of nowhere. No warning. No obvious cause. It's most common in teenage males and young men.

Without surgery to untwist the cord, the testicle can die within 4 to 6 hours. That's not a maybe — that's the medical reality.

Warning Signs You Cannot Ignore

If you or someone you know has any of these symptoms, stop reading and go to the ER right now.

1Sudden, severe pain in one testicle
2Swelling of the scrotum
3One testicle sitting higher than normal or at an unusual angle
4Nausea or vomiting alongside the pain
5Abdominal pain
6Frequent urination

These symptoms can appear suddenly, even during sleep. Do not wait to see if the pain goes away.

Survivor Story

Why I Built This

I was 17. The pain hit out of nowhere — the kind that makes you think something is seriously wrong. I told my parents immediately. That decision saved my testicle.

I had surgery. I recovered. And I realized how close I came to a very different outcome — just because I didn't know what was happening to me.

Most guys don't talk about this. Most guys don't know this can happen. That's why TorsionTalk exists — to make sure the next person knows exactly what to do.

In Pain Right Now?

Do not wait. Do not search for more information. Go to the emergency room immediately.

Time is the only thing that matters. Every minute counts.

Our Mission

TorsionTalk exists so no one has to face testicular torsion alone — or uninformed. Built by a survivor, for everyone who needs to know.
